Electric Acres
The gardening website of Todd and Sharon Peach
After working hard to do what we could with a typical smallish suburban lot, we finally purchased a house with more land. As it happens, a fair chunk of that land (a little over an acre) lies directly under the Seattle City Light power transmission lines (no that's not a freakishly large garden ornament). In our 'lemonade from lemons' scenario, we decided that the power line easement was perfect for gardening. It has a Southern exposure, it's visually separate from our house and 'landscaping', it's got good drainage, and after a whole bunch of soil amendments the soil is actually in pretty good shape.
Everybody said our 'estate' needed a name, so we've begun calling it 'electric acres'.
