Review: | I remember seeing this CD in my local record store and wondering what the heck |
it was. It had the wildest cover art on the sleeve! This particular store let you
preview CDs, and on my 2nd or 3rd visit after seeing it, I gave it a shot.

From the first track (Hello City), I was struck by the quality of the production,
and the humor of the chief writers, Ed Robertson and Steven Page. After
listening to the whole album, I decided there's "not an ounce of filler" here.

These guys honed their craft on tour in small clubs, and they capture the live 'fun'
of their shows on this album (something I discovered much later when I first saw
them live).

"If I Had $1,000,000" was their first 'hit' (mostly in their native Canada), and it
continues to be a staple of their concerts. (They still haven't figured out how to
stop folks from throwing 'Kraft Dinner' at their shows; it would run counter to
the spirit of this band to get mad about it.)

I guess this goes to show that cover art is something to pay attention to when
you're releasing an album; you can never tell what will get folks to pick it up!
