Every gardener needs a 'garden dog' to keep them company. Our two greyhounds are ill-suited for this, as they are highly likely to tear off after a squirrel or something (only to phone us sheepishly from a seven-eleven some miles away, 'Um, can you come get me?'). Fortunately for us, the neighbors have a dog that is willing to fill in. Here's Maggie:
