Zach Pitching
This is a series of photos I took of my nephew, Zach, in his stint as pitcher of his little league team. He was engaged in the state (Washington) championship series, which his team ultimately won.
All photos: Nikon N90s camera with Sigma 70-300 APO Lens. Sequence at high speed, about 4.3 frames per second. Shot through the chain-link fence of the backstop. The lens was wide open, and I centered the lens in an opening of the chain link, but I still end up with chain link in front of the lens. The narrow depth of field helps it "disappear".
A side note about picture frames: There's a new size of frames to fit the panoramic photos common on APS and other cameras. The frame size is 6 x 12" with mattes to handle smaller sizes. 3 of the 4 x 6" prints can be butted together in a single frame. That's how I have the above photos displayed in my home. It looks like a custom frame job, but it's very inexpensive.
